Because your relocation is so important to you, and to us, we want to know your concerns and your needs from the very beginning. During pre-move counseling, we bring you proven advice and helpful planning aids to make the day-by-day activities of your relocation easy.

Estimating Accuracy

We work with you to provide the most accurate estimate possible. So, for the best results, take your Shetler Representative through every room and storage area, the attic, basement, garage and tool shed. Point out things that may require special handling and packing, such as fragile porcelains, family heirlooms or valuable antiques.

Out-of-State Relocations

You have several pricing programs to choose from when relocating to another state. Established rates are published in an industry-wide tariff and are public information. Pricing is based on weight, distance and services. Your Shetler Representative can help you understand your options and select the services that are correct for your unique relocation.

Liability Protection

As is standard in the industry, Atlas offers basic liability protection for your belongings. This coverage is limited to 60 cents per pound per article at no cost to you. However, basic liability protection may not provide enough coverage in the unlikely event something is lost or damaged. You may decide upon full value protection, an affordable choice for peace of mind.

Proper Packing

Poor packing is the most common cause of breakage during a relocation. Transporting fragile, delicate items safely involves a lot more than simply placing them in boxes. You get expert packing from Atlas. We use the right cartons for different items, the right packing materials to cushion and protect the contents, and the right packing methods to assure a safe trip. We even use wooden crates for things like crystal chandeliers, pool table slates and antiques. Coordinating Your Relocation (top)

Your Atlas Representative handles many details throughout the process, coordinating your packing dates with the agency crew and equipment, scheduling your preferred pickup and delivery dates, then reporting your personal relocation information to Atlas Van Lines. Your relocation is monitored by professionals who spend all their time making sure customers' household goods are handled smoothly. Relax, Atlas personnel will provide whatever support you need.

Your Professional Van Operator (top)

Your Atlas Van Operator is like a ship's captain. He takes command and accepts the responsibility that goes with it. He knows how to handle your possessions safely, how to load them securely, and how to supervise the crew who helps him serve you.

Your Item Inventory (top)

A member of your Atlas team catalogs each carton and separate item on an inventory form, describing each piece of furniture. Upon delivery, the Customer Check-Off Sheet will assist you in verifying that all items on your inventory were received. You can then be sure that everything is accounted for.

Placing Your Furniture (top)

Your Atlas crew places your furniture where you want it in your new home. They'll carry cartons to the kitchen, bedrooms, basement and garage as marked. They'll unroll rugs, reassemble beds, and put them where you say.

Unpacking (top)

If you choose the full unpacking service option, your Atlas crew will unpack every plate, cup, glass and spoon; place them on the kitchen counter; and take away the packing material when they leave.

Storage-in-Transit (SIT)

When your possessions need to
"SIT" before delivery.

If your new home isn't ready for occupancy, or if no one is there to accept delivery, your household goods may be stored in your Atlas Agent's warehouse at an additional charge until you're ready to receive them.

When shipments are delivered to a warehouse for storage-in-transit (SIT), your Atlas Agent places your goods in secure storage containers to protect your items from loss or damage. Household items stay packed in their original moving cartons. Upholstered furniture is stored on specially-designed racks and protected from dust and dirt with stretch wrap. Cars, boats, trailers, motorcycles and other vehicles are sheltered inside the warehouse.

We know quality storage is important to you. That's why Atlas Agency warehouses are regularly inspected and graded by our company's quality inspectors. They must exceed the minimum standards of our stringent "World Class Commitment" guidelines, so you are assured that your possessions are kept safe and secure until you need them.

At time of payment, your Atlas Agency Sales Representative or van operator will ask for a valid I.D. to complete the information needed for check authorization. Have your driver's license, passport, military I.D. or AARP card available.
